Royal
Dornoch
Formed in 1877, Dornoch has now been a Royal club for over
100 years! A Royal title means exceptional standards and we always
aim to exceed the expectations of our frequent visitors and loyal
members. However, we aim to do this in a relaxed, informal
environment, with an emphasis on traditional highland hospitality.

Dornoch
The Royal Burgh of Dornoch is an historic small
town on the edge of the Dornoch Firth, a designated National Scenic
Area in the Highlands of Scotland. Its tranquil location, scenery
and climate have attracted visitors for decades. Some come to test
their golfing skills on Royal Dornoch's championship course, or to
walk and view wildlife in the National Nature Reserve at nearby Loch
Fleet. Others simply want to relax and enjoy our unhurried way of
life.

Highland Wildcat Trails
Expecting to become one of the best mountain biking destinations in
the UK, the first phase of Highland Wildcat Trails in Golspie,
Northern Scotland, is now officially open.
Design guru, Pete Laing, and a skilled construction team have
created the ultimate mountain biking experience in a superb coastal
location above the Dornoch Firth. Featuring the longest freeride
descent in the UK from the summit of Ben Bhraggie (1300’ to
sea-level) - and the longest technical singletrack climb - this will
be 'a must do' on the Highland mountain biking scene.

Glenmorangie Whisky Distillery Scotland
Glenmorangie Distillery has been producing its Single Highland malt Scotch whisky since 1843. Crafting the delicate spirit is entrusted to the legendary Sixteen Men of Tain. Take a tour of the distillery and you'll see these skilled mashmen, stillmen and warehousemen as they go about their daily work.
The guided tour is a uniquely personal experience. You'll see the shining elegance of Glenmorangie's copper stills, the tallest in Scotland, standing 16 feet 10 ¼ inches (5.14 metres) high. This ensures that only the purest, most delicate vapours are condensed into spirit.
Unlike other distilleries, hard water is used to make Glenmorangie. The water is drawn from the nearby Tarlogie Springs. It takes almost 100 years for this water to travel through limestone and rise to the surface.
Find us on the A9 half a mile north of Tain, overlooking the shores of the Dornoch Firth. There is ample car parking.
The Glenmorangie Distillery Shop offers a warm Highland welcome,
together with a range of whiskies including rare, limited edition
bottlings. A selection of books, glasses, local produce and
souvenirs is also available.
